Dr. Young is passionate about advancing health equity, mentoring future physician leaders, and promoting high-quality, patient-centered, value-based care. He lives in Southeast Texas with his wife of over 30 years and enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with their three adult children.
The National Medical Association is proud to share that our 126th President, Roger A. Mitchell, Jr., MD, recently attended a special convening with state affiliates of the National Cares Mentoring Movement as they celebrate 20 years of service to communities across the country.
This milestone reflects two decades of commitment to mentorship, youth empowerment, and strengthening the pipeline of future leaders. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and explore meaningful ways to work together in advancing health equity and supporting the next generation.
