Guirlaine Agnant, M.D., F.A.C.O.G, is a Board-Certified Physician with over 39 years of experience specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, including high-risk pregnancies, infertility, gynecology surgery. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University in 1976 and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara, Mexico in 1981. Five years later, she completed her residency at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital, an affiliate of the Albert Einstein University.

Dr. Agnant is currently the Chair of the Gynecology department at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital. In addition to seeing patients, she is responsible for supervising and training the new physicians in her department. She also holds affiliations at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and New York Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. Over the course of her career, she has served in multiple roles, including as Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Outpatient Services at the Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital and Supervisor of the Fifth Pathway Clinical Clerkship Program for the OB/GYN department at New York Medical College.

Dr. Agnant serves in several leadership positions in professional medical organizations. She is the Vice President of the Medical Board at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital and Vice Chair of Region 1 of the National Medical Association (NMA). She is also one of the co-founders of the Society of Black Physicians of Westchester and the Bronx, an affiliate of the NMA, and former President of the Westchester OB/GYN Society.

Dr. Agnant is very committed to serving underserved communities, and to advancing the delivery of health care through education. She regularly speaks at schools throughout Mount Vernon and beyond, as well as participating in mentoring programs to educate and empower youth.
