MACRA: What you need to know

1. Many national physician surveys denote that 67% of physicians nationwide have limited knowledge around MIPS reporting and scoring requirements and the impact of MACRA and QPP on their practices.
2. There are still critical gaps in physician readiness for MACRA.
3. For 2018 CMS changes – seek to reduce the burden of MACRA by excluding even more solo and small-group practices from MIPS participation.
4. MACRA is intended to drive/incentivize eligible clinicians to perform higher–quality care.

However, by excluding two-thirds of clinicians nationally (about 900,000)… CMS runs the risk of creating two classes of care for Medicare Beneficiaries; (1) outcomes focused, (2) FFS with excluded clinicians not able to compete in MACRA.
