📢 NMA Leadership Transition Announcement
The National Medical Association (NMA) announces that Joy D. Calloway, MHSA, MBA, who has served as Executive Director since 2022, will step down on October 3, 2025, to pursue a new opportunity.
During her tenure, Ms. Calloway advanced NMA’s mission by:
✨ Strengthening partnerships with equity-focused organizations
✨ Elevating Black physicians’ expertise on the national stage
✨ Expanding NMA’s media presence and influence in health policy
✨ Delivering three successful national conventions
✨ Modernizing operations and increasing donor support
As Dr. Roger A. Mitchell Jr., 126th President of the NMA, affirmed: “For more than 130 years, the NMA and its physician leaders have fought for health equity and Black physicians. We remain committed to this work, which will continue in earnest as we transition the executive director role.”
