Join the Giving Tuesday movement TODAY – November 29, 2022 – to support the National Medical Association (NMA) Emerging Scholars Fund!
Established in 2004, the NMA provides $5,000 scholarships to African American medical students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership, financial need and the potential for distinguished contributions to medicine. These awards are the highest honors presented to students by the NMA and are made possible by YOUR generous contributions! Scholarship awardees attend the annual NMA Convention Scientific Assembly where they receive their scholarships and the well-earned accolades.
Our goal for the 2023 scholarship season is to double both the scholarship amount and the number of medical students awarded – we invite YOU to be the reason we meet (or surpass!) our goal. As you gear up for the holiday shopping season, we ask that you make a Giving Tuesday gift of only $100 – TODAY. (of course, we welcome larger gifts!) We are certain you will find satisfaction in being part of NMA’s Giving Tuesday experience and supporting deserving medical students in our communities.
According to Forbes, the median total cost of attending medical school for the Class of 2020 was $255,517 – $337,584, a figure that is out of reach for many of our community’s medical school students. With your support, we will honor outstanding African-American medical students as they chart their course of clinical excellence and medical service, and stand poised to make major contributions in medicine and in the work of the National Medical Association.
