Today, on World Health Day, the National Medical Association proudly stands in recognition of the critical importance of health equity, access, and quality care for all.
For over a century, the NMA has remained committed to advancing the health and well-being of underserved and historically marginalized communities, because where you live, work, and grow should never determine your health outcomes.
This year, we reaffirm our mission to:
✔️ Advocate for equitable healthcare policies
✔️ Empower physicians and healthcare leaders
✔️ Address disparities impacting Black communities and beyond
Health is a human right, not a privilege. Together, we continue the work to build a healthier, more just future for all.

The National Medical Association continues to elevate urgent global health concerns impacting vulnerable communities.
Recently, NMA 126th President, Dr. Roger A. Mitchell, Jr., engaged in a very informative conversation with the Cuban Ambassador to discuss the growing healthcare challenges facing Cuba.
As outlined in our official statement, ongoing disruptions are impacting access to critical, life-saving services, placing thousands of patients at risk.
Stay tuned for an upcoming virtual event where we will further highlight the health crisis in Cuba and explore how we can take action together.
